Elementary Elegance birthday card Sale-A-Bration 2012 by Stampin Up and me

Did you see how I added a little strip of card stock that I punched out with my Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch? It is such an elegant little punch that can work it's elegant miracle tricks on any card or scrapbook pages. (#119275 - $ 20.95)

I used the Curly Label Punch to punch out the centre of this image. (#119851 - $22.95, page 209 in the Idea Book and Catalogue 2011 - 2012) I love it when stamps and punches go so well together.

Here I used the letter E from the Broadsheet Alhabet Stampin Up stamp set

(#120585 - $36.95 for 26 different stamps. ) It fits so perfectly in the centre of this main image of the Elementary Elegance Stampin Up stamp set.

Here you see part of the Elementary Elegance Stamp set by Stampin Up. #125122.

I already love it to pieces.

Hi dear Stampers.

I know, it is my second post of the day. But I was so pumped about my card that I just had to show it to you. I inked up for the first time my Elementary Elegance Sale-A-Bration stamp set from Stampin Up and it just wowed me while I was playing with it. I have so many different idea's spinning around my head and this was one of them. I hope you love it as much as I do.

And it is so easy to receive it. I am not much of a sales person.. So I hope I am not rubbing you the wrong way with all this Sale-A-Bration talk.. But, if you place an order through my Online Stampin Up store, all you have to do is spend $60 and Stampin Up will offer this one for free to you. Now how about that! I love this company. They really spoil us.

When I hopped over to 'Our Creative Corner' this morning, I saw such an inspiring and gorgeous photo that they had posted on their challenge website. It had lots of warm and inviting colours and it had a beautiful elegance to it. Right away I dove into my card stock drawer and found just the right colours that I wanted to use. I hope that you can see the connection between their inspiration photo and my card.

I created my card for a dear friend who had her birthday yesterday and who is celebrating it this upcoming Friday.. Now how about that for being organised and ready to party! (I know.. I am getting there :)
Well.. I am keeping it short today.

Easy events 'snail' Sorry I am late card by Stampin Up and me

Here is one of the images from the Easy Events stamp set from Stampin Up. (#123225 - $30.95 for 8 different stamps that are all the cutest ever! I already made so many different cards with this set and I still have lots of excitement and inspiration to create more.

So stay tuned :)

Here you see the Craft Whisper White ink pad from Stampin Up (#101731 - $9.95) Perfect to use with heat embossing.

Hi dear Stampers.

Thanks for hopping over to my blog again. Welcome! I love to have you visit. It is Monday, so it's time for another Mojo Monday Challenge #225 to kick start my week. I love how they said that on their website. So, here I am Kick starting my week with this super cute card. I think that I love everything about this card. the colours, the design (Thanks Mojo Ladies!!) and then that snail image... so cute! Do you see how this little snail is slowly making it's way through my card. Each picture is showing .. well .. how slow he is.. (smile) So fitting with the sentiment right, of this card.

I heat embossed the middle part of my card. I added some white SU embossing powder to the Craft Stampin Up white ink and then heated it up with my heating gun. Easy peasy and it really helps to pop up the image on the Basic Grey card stock.

At the Friday Mashup Challenge #42 site they encouraged us to use some Paper Piercing in our projects. I love paper piercing. If you haven't tried it yet.. Please do, it adds so much goodness to a card.. (hahaha... I can't believe I just wrote that) But it is so true.. Instead of colouring an image you can stamp the same image twice. One of them will be the main image and the other image you will stamp on some DSP or card stock. Then you will choose which part you want to highlight of the image and you cut that part out and stick it on the same spot of your main image. (If this makes sense to you.. you are my hero... because I have some trouble here to explain this to you in words..) And again that's why I love taking photo's :) I do hope that I took good enough pictures of it, so you can see what a great technique it is.

Well, I had a slow day today. I did some laundry, dishes, floors, tidied up some rooms, cleaned the bathroom. Made lunches and snacks and now dinner is on the list. A typical Monday as I see it. I love that I had some time to create in the middle of it.

I hope you enjoyed my post today.

Before I forget. I found some fun Blog candy on pennyspapercraft.blog. She just started her blog and is really great at what she is doing. She has got some awesome idea's. Please hop over to her blog for some great Candy and for some beautiful projects.

Precious Butterflies Hostess set by Stampin Up and me

The nine-piece Precious Butterflies Stampin' Rewards exclusive set is ideal for adding some elegant whimsy to your stamping projects. Best of all, you can redeem this two-step stamp set with your Stampin' Rewards when you place a qualifying order!

(#122515 - $15)

to give it that little bit of extra elegance. So precious, don't you think?

Hi dear Stampers.

And that was another weekend in our household. On Saturday night we went swimming with 3 other families and their kids.. Wow.. with this cold weather outside and all the energy that needs to stay inside attached to our 3 kids.. the pool is the place to go in the winter! Our kids had such a blast. + the BIG PLUS is, that it was a heated pool. And a heated pool means that there are no blue lips and shivering kids at the end of the play time. Or 3 kids that all want to be dressed at the same time in the end, because they are so darn cold.. Yip.. we found our new family outing for the winter. Love it.

I created this card with the Pals Paper Sketch Challenge #127 in mind. I just tuned their sketch up side down to make it work with my images. I hope they don't mind (Hi PPA ladies :) Thanks for having such a beautiful sketch, I always love to play along with what you come up with! I actually saw this type of card somewhere on the net.. Not sure where, so I can't link you to it. So sorry about that. Don't you love the Elegant Eggplant and the Wisteria Wonder from Stampin Up mixed together with a hint of Whisper White.. It always does the happy / elegant card trick for me.

Well.. it's late again and I have to go to sleep, tomorrow it is going to be a new day again that will start early I am sure. Have a good sleep, if you're going to put your head down as well at this time. Or have a beautiful day if you are just getting up. (hi dear European friends)

Up in the air Hostess set with a sweet Vellum embossing technique by Stampin Up and me

Here I used the dry embossing technique on some Stampin Up Vellum paper.

(#101839 - $5.95 for 20 sheets of 8-1/2 x 11'' of Translucent Vellum paper which can add such a delicate touch or overlay to your elegant designs)

You might think that I coloured the flowers white on this Vellum paper. But that's not what happened. I stamped the image, let it dry a bit and I turned my piece of paper upside down and placed it on a soft underground.

Then with my Simply Scored Styles from my Simply Scoring tool, which has 2 high quality metal tips on both ends, I started rubbing softly on top of the flowers to break down the fibers in the Vellum Paper. When they are 'broken', they will start to look white. And that's just what I wanted for my image. The flowers even feel a bit bubble, which is super duper cute!

Spend the hostess dollars you earn at your workshop on this specially priced hostess - exclusive stamp set. (Up in the air by Stampin Up #122477 - $10.00) This set is also available with any $200 Online order through my Online store. When you place an order of $200, you will receive $35 in Stampin Up dollars which you can use on any catalogue item of your choice.
+ Can you hear the drums beating in anticipation of Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion of the year?

From Jan. 24 through March 31, 2012,

customers will earn a free Sale-A-Bration gift for EVERY $60 they spend on Stampin' Up! products (including the online Clearance Rack). Spend $200 or more and you will receive 3 FREE Sale-A-Bration gifts AND your additional $35 Hostess Benefits.

The Big Shot is for more than cutting shapes. Use it with this elegant Plastic Stripes Folder to add quick and beautiful embossing to your projects. Folders measure 4 1/2 x 5 3/4''.

(#123128 - $9.95 Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder)

Here you see 2 of my favorite Stampin Up punches. On the left you see Punch number 40 in the Stampin Up catalogue (page 212) #120906 - $22.95 for the 2 1/2 Circle Punch. (please click on the link to see how you can order this fun and handy punch)

The one on the right is the Scallop Trim Border Punch (#118402-$20.95) which I also used on this card.

Hi dear Stampers. How is your Thursday going?

For the first time in about a week I started our van this morning. It has been so cold outside that I just did not want to give that one a try yet. With temperatures reaching -40 Celsius I did not want to get stuck somewhere on the road with our 3 kiddo's only to get some milk or bread or .. I am glad you didn't hear our van complaining when I started it.. We have no garage to store our little baby (van) in and I think he wanted to remind me of that this morning.. Oh boy.. I seriously thought that all the pieces on the inside started to move around.. After he car warmed up for about 20 minutes it started to sound a little more normal en we drove away. ... We should install a little heating system in our motor.. many people have that here in Canada. Then you plug your car in and it keeps the motor warm. I know, so much better!

So on another note. Yesterday I hopped over to the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge site and saw that the sweet Linda Callahan created a beautiful sketch #18 for us to play with. There is already such a creative heap of entries admitted to this weeks Challenge, so please check it out, you will love the idea's that are over there.

Well.. here's my card. It's for a dear friend of me. I haven't seen her yet since she came back from Maui with her family, but I hope we can connect soon again. She lived there for many years and is trying to settle back into Canada again. My dear mother in law will meet with her mom tomorrow so she will take this card along with some other goodies. I hope she'll like it. I want her to know that our friendship still has a huge place in my heart and that she is always welcome in our home. Well, I gotta go. Stay warm wherever you are! Inky hugs, Pauline
